GPA Northwest Membership Scholarship
The Grant Professionals Association (GPA) is an international membership organization with over 1,800 members. Our mission is to build and support a community of grant professionals committed to serving the greater public good. We are a supportive professional community open to anyone involved with grants planning, writing, research or management. Grant Professionals Association of Oregon & SW Washington (GPA Northwest) hosts regular meetings and events, which help grant professionals further their careers.
Overview and Criteria
GPA Northwest is excited to offer four membership scholarships this year. The scholarship is open to individuals with an interest in the grants profession and who have not received a scholarship in the past. Applications will be accepted from August 1 to August 31, 2021. The scholarship covers a one-year membership for the national GPA organization and our local chapter, GPA Northwest.

Recognizing historic inequities, the impact of racism and the challenges of grant writing in small organizations, GPA Northwest seeks to provide membership scholarships for four individuals who:

● Supportive professional community open to anyone involved with grants planning, writing, research or management.
● Free admission to quarterly meetings (normally $15/meeting).
● Discounts to annual and regional conferences.
● 25% discount for Oregon Foundation Databook.
Application Guidelines
Submission and Award Information
● Membership Scholarship Applications will be accepted via an online application.
● The GPA Northwest Scholarship Committee will review applications and randomly select four recipients from the pool of eligible applicants.
● Membership scholarship winners will be announced after the October board meeting and at the December general meeting.
Eligibility Requirements
● Individuals who meet eligibility in accordance with the criteria and purpose of scholarship are eligible to apply for a membership scholarship.
● GPA Northwest board members and their family are not eligible to apply for scholarships.
Terms of Agreement
By submitting a Membership Scholarship Application, you are agreeing to the following:
● You affirm that the information provided in your application is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge, and you acknowledge that GPA Northwest will be relying on the information provided in determining scholarship awards.
● In the event you are selected as a scholarship recipient, you agree that the scholarship will be provided in the form of a credit tendered by the GPA (national) and GPA Northwest and applicable only to one-year membership(s) registration for the national Grant Professionals Association and GPA Northwest.
● You also understand that there is no cash equivalent for the scholarship and that the scholarship is not refundable or transferable.
● You agree to adhere to the Grant Professionals Association Code of Ethics.
● You agree that the Grant Professionals Foundation and the Grant Professionals Association may publish your name on its website or in any electronic or print communications, identifying you as receiving a membership scholarship.

- identify as members of communities of color, such as African, African American, Black, Asian, Latino or Hispanic, Middle Eastern, North African, Native American, Pacific Islander, Slavic, or multiracial
- represent small/emerging organizations with an annual budget under $250,000
